Let Your Life Last Forever!

"Accept whatever comes to you woven in the pattern of your destiny, for what could more aptly fit your needs?"

- Marcus Aurelius
- Roman Emperor, 161 to 180 A.D.

General Maximus was a fictional character in the movie Gladiator, probably based on three or four real historical figures. Others, such as Caesar Marcus Aurelius and Commodus (his evil, evil son) were not made up.

Marcus Aelius Aurelius Antoninus seemed to flow with life, while Commodus tried to force things to go his way. As a result, while Commodus is seen by historians as a failure and "even more bizarre in real life than he was in the film" (David Neelen, 2000), Marcus Aurelius is viewed as a huge success.

According to Eckhart Tolle, author of "The Power of Now", Marcus was "one of those exceedingly rare humans who possessed worldly power as well as wisdom". (p.179)

Accepting whatever comes to you I interpret not as simply going through life as nothing more than a leaf floating in a river. It is paying attention to the events of your life and listening to those things that give you a strong positive reaction. What events give you a spiritual uplifting? What thoughts and dreams do you have that enlighten you to as what your highest life could be like?

If you deny them as foolish fantasy or impossible goals, then you are not accepting whatever comes to you as woven into the pattern of your destiny, and aptly fitting your needs.

We are all here for a very wonderful purpose, and I don't think that purpose is to wake up, go to work, come home, eat dinner, watch TV, go to bed, wake up, go to work, come home, eat dinner, watch tv, go to bed, wake up.........

What are our dreams? They are our destiny reminding us of why we are here. We all possess worldy power. When we are young there is NOTHING that we cannot do. We give that power away way too easily and way too soon. Fear and doubt are the twin pillars that stand strong while our lives crumble into ruins.

A hero is someone who hangs on just one minute longer each time he wants to give up. A heroine chooses bravery and courage when fear and doubt enter her mind.

Hang on to your dreams one minute longer today. Hang on and hold on, and let your life echo in eternity with a ringing sound of a call to arms for others to realize their fullest lives, that IT CAN be done.

Let your life last forever!
