The School of Athens News ~ In Sports ~ Kingston Wins in Competition Craziness!

WELCOME TO THE SCHOOL OF ATHENS

WHERE IT'S ALL GOOD NEWS, ALL THE TIME :-)

IN SPORTS

KINGSTON WINS! KINGSTON WINS!

In a close competition during the Comprehension Craziness competition, academic athlete Kingston answered all 10 reading questions correctly, tying him with several other competitors for the lead.

On the last shot of the game, he braced himself for his last bonus shot, focusing intently on the target across the room, and hit it for the win!

The crowd erupted and his fellow competitors lifted him up on their shoulders in celebration!

After the game during the post game interview amid the rush-the-field celebration, with his arm around his academic athlete, his coach said,

"I'll tell you what, that focus he had on the last shot was what won the game for us.

With that kind of intense focus and learning from the shots he missed, it was a true science experiment, changing only one variable at a time with each new shot.

With this kind of scientific thinking, there is nothing he can't accomplish on the classroom field, or in life!"

When asked what gave him the victory, Kingston, his voice hoarse from celebration, rasped, "It was being able to figure out so many answers that gave me so many opportunities to hit the targets that were spread out across the classroom field.

I'm glad I paid attention the past few days while coach went over the plays of this week's story!"

With his victory, Kingston earned the position and title he has coveted for three long months, that of being promoted to President of Science as Dr. Martin Luther Kingston.

As the honor was bestowed upon him, his coach said, "Hey, he worked hard to earn it. He deserved to get it! His passion for it propelled him to produce it :-)"
