The Magnificent Sun

This is another work-in-progress. My own son is such a free and wonderful spirit that I know there's a book in there somewhere.

Chapter One

A long time ago in a faraway land, in a small little village nestled among the trees at the foot of a mountain, in a tiny hut at the end of a lane, lived a father and his son…a magnificent son.

The father was a cobbler who worked very hard. He made only enough for food and a leaky roof, but not enough for flowers in the yard. But even though life was hard, the cobbler woke up each day with a start. Jumping out of bed and sneaking over to his son, he would rouse him with a gentle kiss on the head.

The boy would rub his eyes, smile, and wrap his arms tightly around his father’s neck. At breakfast his son would soon start laughing, finding humor in something or nothing at all. Across from him the father would put his elbows on the table and prop his face in his hands. He would look into his son’s eyes and a satisfied smile would grow across his lips.

For in his son’s eyes he would see laughter, and in his laughter see joy. And in his son’s joy he would see happiness, and in his happiness see cheer. And in his son’s cheer he would see hopefulness, and in his hopefulness see bliss.

In his son, the father saw the best and brightest things of the world. For inside this magnificent son, was another magnificent sun. So bright and full of life, the father was happy just being with his son.

Hey adam, this piece makes it really clear to the reader that its been written by a very loving father. I can see where you were trying to take this, however i got lost a little in the descriptions, The beggining sets up for some action, and i think children would need more of it to understand your message. I did really enjoy it though, and i think brosden would feel really good reading or hearing this.

Hey there Adam.
I enjoyed reading this. It is rare to find a man feeling the way a woman usually feels about her children. You are a special man.
