Brighter and Better

It's so funny how new people bring new insights,
And how new insights bring new meaning, and new understanding.

I was replying to a comment left on "Going to Bed with Audrey and Waking up with Gilda" and was inspired to write this post.

And - a - this - is - a - how - it - went:

And that's when the big "A-HA!" happened. It's simple.

Saying "I love you" is so much more than saying just three words

(see "Saying 'I Love You'"). In fact, it's hardly "saying" anything at all. Love is a do, an emotion, a commitment, a promise......... a choice to be made when you AREN'T in a loving mood.

I ..................promise to respect you even when I'm angry.

Love...........will keep me honest to you when it would be easier to lie, even when this might cause discomfort or pain, such as when I am attracted to somebody else and wondering if we're meant to be.

You............will be the only one I share myself with, even when I'm feeling tempted by or attracted to another, or feeling lonely and left alone because you and I are going through a difficult time. I will never be unfaithful to you as long as I am in this relationship.

It connected with something inside of me that gave me insight, which I hope connects with something inside of the person reading this right now and gives them insight, whom I hope passes this or the message along to make a connection with someone they know and giving them insight, who passes it along ............

.....who knows, perhaps all these connections can make the world brighter and better. Mine is.

I’m with ya on most ur thoughts and I gotta give u credit 4 puttin urself out there, but come on, ur attitudes about wimmin r ridic. Man, u r basing ur image of wimmin on HOLLYWOOD. Let me be the 1st to tell u that it is fictional. Not real. Made up in the minds of some uptight old white men. Real women don’t act like that. U think they acted like that off the screen? Unknown said...: Amigo, looking at ur comment this morning and truly appreciate the comment. I am allowing for the possibility that u may be right about all this. I can definitely see how someone reading my stuff 4 the 1st time might conclude this, but not someone who’s been readin’ 4 awhile. So if I am heading in the wrong direction on something as important as this I’ll stop right now. Let’s look at the facts……………

1. I thought the mention of Rita’s statement “they go to bed with Gilda and wake up with me” was a pretty clear clue that her life wasn’t so glamorous, or at the very least that I was aware of this.

2. Anyone who knows all these old movies also knows about the real-life struggles and unhappiness of some of the actors’ real lives.

3. I’m not sure how long you’ve been reading but I would think it’s clear I write a lot about inner beauty being the most real. You don't want me to apologize for being a man and appreciating outer beauty as well? (r u sure ur not a woman pretending to be a “truthenthizing dude”?)

I just don’t see the point in talking about all the negative things about people but the beauty and joy and hope they brought the world WITH WHAT THEY DID RIGHT. No one is perfect, and most people seem to enjoy focusing on what people r doing wrong v right. I am simply and happily choosing to focus on the ideas of the right things, the good things, the Honest things that were portrayed and were true.

I’ve even mentioned other real women from that time not from Hollywood that are beautiful, honest, and real: my own Grandmother…and I’m sorry, but truly beautiful women inside do exist.

And my point is that REAL PEOPLE ARE REALLY BEAUTIFUL to the people that really love them.

Soooo, I’m sorry but after looking at the facts I can’t say I agree with you. I talk about the beauty of old Hollywood v the ugliness, just as I choose to talk about the beauty of today v. the ugliness; from my children to my world. And I see the world with loving eyes, hoping to create more love and beauty with the help of others, like so many of my readers.

Every reality has been created from a dream. And the more good and beautiful the reality the more well-intentioned and beautiful was the dream.

*So my friend, all I can say is maybe lighten up and simply enjoy the things I do write instead of focusing on the things you don’t like. To be honest, it’s almost as if you’re a female pretending to be a guy, for whatever reason. I don’t know what it is about dishonesty but I just don’t see any justification for it.
